FIELD NOTES / 001

Making campus easier to read.

This week’s work was about helping you understand a dangerous situation before it ends your run.

Pedestrians now have direction cues, with a dark outline to keep them visible on pale sidewalks. The garden has a gold border that matches its minimap marker. When strength gets low, the meter turns orange alongside the existing text warning.

We also corrected puddle boundaries: dry corners no longer provide invisible protection. The water you see now matches the hiding area more closely.

Fresh Windows and macOS tester packages bring these changes together. The Mac build has launched successfully on Apple Silicon; Windows and Intel Mac hands-on testing are still needed.

“The next question is simple: can you read the campus well enough to make a good decision—and does trying another route feel fun?”

Next focus: use playtest feedback to tune traffic, strength pressure, and the usefulness of random manhole exits.

This is our first public development note. Earlier work established the Drake map, random travel, and building-to-building pedestrian journeys.
